Charred Oak Estates is a tree-lined neighborhood of over 200 single family homes in West Bethesda, Maryland just outside the Capital Area Beltway and bordering the Cabin John Regional Park. This quiet neighborhood with its large wooded lots and excellent schools, offers the perfect balance of suburban living with access to all that Washington DC has to offer.
Charred Oak Estates encompasses three different housing developments originally built in the 1960’s and the 1980’s, The first and furthest north is a neighborhood of contemporary or mid-century modern homes. The second is a cherry-tree lined development consisting of colonial style homes, split levels, bi-levels, and ramblers built by a builder who made each home slightly different and unique. The third section which is along the southern side of the neighborhood, was built in the 1980’s and has large front yards and large-scale brick homes.

Nestled between the Capital Area Beltway and the Cabin John Regional Park, the large wooded lots of Charred Oak Estates range in size from 0.34 to 1.24 acres and offer backyard privacy and convenience to the entire DC Metropolitan Area. Each spring, the cherry trees that line the streets blossom offering extra joy to the residents of this secluded neighborhood.Neighbors walk their dogs, bike, and jog around the loops in the neighborhood and hike in the neighboring Cabin John Regional park with trails in all directions.
